NARC Special Presentation Evening
Tuesday
24th February 2009
On
Tuesday 24th February 2009, a presentation evening was held at
the Club. The evening had been arranged in order to say thank you for the
donation of radio equipment to the Club by Mr Peter Blay, on behalf of his
Uncle, Wilf Blay (GØGSK) who had gone silent key in December 2008.

Wilf
Blay had first been licensed in 1993 and had enjoyed many years of amateur
radio and had a varied range of equipment. It had been Wilf’s wish that
when he passed away, his equipment was to be donated to the Club, for the
use of all members, but mainly, the young members of the Club to enable them
to develop their skills and enthusiasm for a hobby that he loved.
The
equipment is soon to be set up and running in the club, hopefully in March
2009.

Younger club members with Mr Peter Blay.
Although the main theme of the evening was the acceptance of the donated
equipment, another presentation was made to Peter Chamberlain, in
recognition of his personal achievement in amateur radio, both practical and
theoretical.
